        Yes they typically seem to arrive onto the scene a little later than most birds. I came across a nest on Sunday. I followed my ears as the chicks were making some noise!

          They have 2 or 3 broods, I think she’s currently on her second. I’m sure you know but be aware they are schedule 1.

    She’s had a very successful summer by the sounds of it. I kept my distance so as to make zero disturbance – the brood were well hidden away in a borrowed hole in an embankment so we didn’t actually see them but saw the nest and heard the evidence of life.
