Get a Grip People

According to the BBC news this morning 71% of parents are worried about spending too much at Christmas and a similar number are expecting to go into debt to pay for it all.

WHY, get a grip you idiots. Your kids don’t need an iPad or a pair of Beats headphones, nor do they need the latest must have toy or a computer. Why would you go in to debt to get these things. They’ll still love you whatever they get, so stop putting pressure on yourself and giving kids unrealistic expectations of how the world works.

You don’t need a 40lb turkey, a 20lb ham and enough beer to float a battleship!

One of the girls I work with has 5 kids, the youngest of which are 1 year old twins. And for Christmas she’s buying the twins iPads each !!!!!! I know she can’t afford this and I have tried to explain the futility of what she is doing but she doesn’t get it and nor do I. Last year she bought the other three kids a Playstation EACH.

Is it just me?

!!! DO they have to ?? Does festivals mean spent like never before and no tomorrow ? I know Christmas is the most important festival in Western world but I am sure there are other ways to celebrate it . These expensive gifts will just spoil the kids by increasing their expectations ! Did I speak too much ?

Unfortunately its not a festival with any reason than rampant consumerism anymore. The corporations own Christmas and too many people fall for their game.

Oooo !!! I have so much about it from stories and films, the festival of joy and kindness and family time around the fire with Santa giving small gifts ๐Ÿ™‚

You’ve seen too many Hollywood interpretations and Coca Cola adverts.
          Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas

Actually Christmas reminds of of the story of 3 ghosts & scrooge(or similar name) by Charles dickens …. The movies do exaggerate but I loved that story ๐Ÿ™‚

No its not just you sugar, Christmas should be for love and giving, not for spending an absolute fortune for gifts that you have to take out loans for and pay it back all your life. Ridiculous. Bring back the christmas spirit as it was intended to be.

I know its unbelievable. Hope you have a great Christmas, I think we all need a few days to chill, relax and spend time with the family and friends.

Wishing you a very happy Christmas too. I have everything done now so can relax and looking forward to seeing the grandchildren open their presents.

It is ridiculous to spend money like that on such young kids. Christmas should be about family, spending time together and remembering the whole reason for it.
